2021 US Open Day 11 ATP & WTA Schedule of Play with Fernandez vs Sabalenka and Raducanu vs Sakkari

The 2021 US Open is coming to a close with the WTA semifinals on the programme today with Fernandez taking on Sabalenka and Raducanu taking on Sakkari.

Day 11 at the US Open will give us the participants of the WTA final with the semifinals on the programme. Two very interesting matches will be played with the starting time of the earlier match set at 01:00 CET. The 2nd one will follow after that. In the first one, Leylah Fernandez will take on Aryna Sabalenka. It's an interesting matchup between two players with a similar playstyle.

Both reaching the semifinal with strong play from the baseline going for winners and asserting aggression. Sabalenka has more power and more experience which might prove key but the crowd will most likely back the young Fernandez. The Canadian took down some notable opponents but every time she was the more aggressive one which against Sabalenka will rarely be the case. If she can hold up and survive she will have a chance.

In the 2nd one, we will see another teenage sensation Emma Raducanu take on Maria Sakkari. Both of these players have played impressive tennis so far at the event and either could realistically win it. Raducanu plays a technically perfect brand of tennis that consists of playing aggressively and going for winners while also making her opponent uncomfortable.

Sakkari, on the other hand, is able to play a variety of different ways but she likes to 'go for it' as well which makes this matchup a polarizing one. The Greek has experience on her despite Raducanu showing a lot of mental resilience as well. The British player hasn't been pushed so far at the event so it remains to be seen how she will handle it.
