The stars of the WTA will transition to grass courts for the 2024
Bad Homburg Open, a warm-up tournament used to prepare players for the upcoming
Wimbledon Championships.
A WTA 500 event, the Bad Homburg Open will run from June 23-29, 2024. The grass court event has received a significant upgrade in status, being promoted from the WTA 250 to 500 category. This has seen led to an increase in
prize money, with players competing for a portion of $922,573, almost four times of last year's total when it was a WTA 250 event.

Marketa Vondrousova will be the top seed at this year's edition. The Czech star will be joined by Greece's Maria Sakkari, who is known to perform well on grass courts. The fantastic lineup will also include the likes of Beatriz Haddad Maia, Mirra Andreeva and Liudmila Samsonova.
With the bump in prize money, the champion is expected to walk out with $142,000. This is an increase of over $100,000 from last season's event, when
Katerina Siniakova took home the trophy. Additionally, this year's winner will get 500 WTA ranking points. Below is the full breakdown.
