After the conclusion of the Sunshine Double, the WTA will kick off the clay season and several of the top tennis players will begin at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix Stuttgart tournament, taking place from April 15 to April 21, 2024.
The tournament will hold its 46th edition with most of the top-10 players leading the draw. This clay-court event is held in the German city of Stuttgart and will feature 32 singles players and 16 doubles teams.
Iga Swiatek aims to defend her title as the World No. 1, having recently lifted the trophy at Indian Wells, repeating her 2022 victory. The Polish player will be the top favorite and will strive to defend the title she secured consecutively in 2022 and 2023, defeating current World No. 2 Aryna Sabalenka on both occasions. Swiatek has only achieved winning the same title three times in a row once before, which she accomplished at the 2024 Qatar Open.
However, the path ahead is challenging, considering it is a WTA 500 tournament. Alongside Swiatek and Sabalenka, players such as Coco Gauff, Elena Rybakina, Ons Jabeur, and Qinwen Zheng will also compete in the tournament. Former Grand Slam champions Angelique Kerber and Emma Raducanu have also confirmed their participation, adding to the tournament's excitement and competitiveness.
