Coco Gauff
claims the third-highest earnings season in history for a female athlete. The
World No. 3 earned significant financial rewards from a season that, while not
always perfectly on track, ended in the best possible way with titles at the
WTA 1000
China Open and
WTA Finals.
Since her
2023 US Open title, Gauff has attracted numerous sponsors who continued to sign
lucrative contracts with the American No. 1 throughout the year. The
20-year-old has caught the eye of sponsors, who are betting on her to become
one of the highest-paid female athletes in the world.
How much money did Gauff make in 2024?"
According
to Forbes, Coco Gauff earned over $34 million this year, which includes $9.4
million in WTA Tour prizes and another $25 million off-the-court. She holds the
top spot in 2024, with more than $10 million ahead of Iga Świątek, who is
second in the ranking with $23.8 million. Once again, tennis players dominated the top-10 highest earners, with seven representatives, including four in the top five.
However,
Gauff's success goes beyond surpassing her rivals' earnings for the year. It
marks one of the most financially prosperous seasons for a female athlete,
ranking third overall. According to Forbes, she is only surpassed by Naomi
Osaka's earnings of $57.3 million and
Serena Williams' $45.9 million, both from
2021.
Among her
sponsors, Gauff has deals with New Balance, American Eagle, Rolex, Bose, Head,
Carol’s Daughter, UPS, Fanatics, Naked Juice, and Baker Tilly.
Gauff is
preparing for her 2025 season debut at the upcoming United Cup, where she will
lead Team USA alongside Taylor Fritz, Danielle Collins, Denis Kudla, Robert
Galloway, and Desirae Krawczyk. She will debut on December 29 against Canada
with Leylah Fernandez and will return to the court on December 31 against Donna
Vekic from Croatia.
