Coco Gauff is the latest player into the Quarter-Finals of the 2025
Stuttgart Open after thrashing
Ella Seidel in just 57 minutes.
Gauff looked a different prospect indoors compared to her form on the outdoor courts as of late and looked superb throughout her win over the rising German star who came through a marathon with Tatjana Maria yesterday. It was a 6-1, 6-1 win for the American who now faces Jasmine Paolini.
In the first set, Gauff broke Seidel's serve four times securing her service games with efficiency. The serve in particular of Gauff which sometimes can be ropey was on point as she dictated the pace and direction of rallies.
Seidel struggled to find any sort of rhythm on her service games losing four in the opening set. Gauff was given ample break point opportunities and took them. The second set mirrored the first as she broke early and established a 3-1 lead.
Gauff being able to break serve so efficiently was a key factor as she seized chance after chance en route to another 6-1 set victory. Seidel was unable to lay a glove on the relentless pressure from the former US Open champion and when the serve breaks down, there is little place to go.
Now it will be Paolini which will be ample test in comparison to Seidel and will very much establish where her game is at and whether she is back on top form heading into Madrid and Rome in the coming weeks.
