"Seems this is the only way for me": Aryna Sabalenka plans to buy Porsche after another Stuttgart Final loss

Aryna Sabalenka was soundly beaten in the final of the Stuttgart Open by Jelena Ostapenko 6-4, 6-1 making it a fourth final defeat after losing between 2021 and 2023 to Ash Barty and Iga Swiatek. She joked she now has to go and buy the car and she won't get one for free.

Sabalenka has long lamented the fact she cannot win the Porsche and said that it seems the only way she can get one is by buying one. She fell to a superb display by the Latvian and although she was her usual jovial self, there was the sense of frustration that she couldn't win.

Albeit perhaps given that she had to play three games in three days due to scheduling and walkovers, it was the case of hitting the wall and as a result what could've been.

"Firstly I want to congratulate Jelena, her team on a great week. You played really great this week, you were a better player than me this week that's all about it. Well done enjoy driving this beautiful car. I'm glad I can afford this car so I'm going to go and order one as it seems this is the only way for me," said Sabalenka.

"I always have a fun week here. Of course thank you to Porsche for this incredible tournament and maybe next year you can take off those cars so I don't see them and I don't have this trigger in my head. But yeah thank you to all the sponsors. Great week, great tournament. Not for me but maybe next year."

"Every year is hoping to get the car so we can drive it in Miami, not this year. So no car for you guys haha. You have to buy one car. Hopefully next final we're going to do better."
