The 2025 Dallas Open will see some beloved stars from the past compete at it's annual Women's Tennis Classic, as WTA greats Kim Clijsters and Martina Hingis have been announced for the event.
Scheduled to run from February 1-9, 2025, the Dallas Open features a Women's Tennis Classic event that pits two WTA stars against each other in an exhibition match. This year's edition will see Clijsters and Hingis lock horns on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 8pm CT.
Clijsters is a four-time Grand Slam champion, with three of her Majors coming after having children. The Belgian star won 41 WTA singles titles, and once held the World No.1 ranking in both singles and doubles in the same year (2003).
"I’m excited to play in the Women’s Tennis Classic at the 2025 Dallas Open,” Clijsters said. “It’s an honor to share the court with a great champion like Martina Hingis. I am looking forward to playing against her once again, this time in front of the incredible tennis fans in Texas.”
Hingis holds the record as the youngest Grand Slam titlist in tennis history, winning the Wimbledon doubles titles at 15 years 9 months. However, she also won five Grand Slam singles titles, is one of the few players in history to reach the finals in all four majors in all three events (singles, doubles, mixed doubles).
“Being part of the Women’s Tennis Classic at the Dallas Open is such an exciting opportunity,” Hingis said. “Kim Clijsters and I have had some great battles in the past, and it’s always a privilege to step on the court with her.”
The duo have faced each other on nine occasions, with Clijsters winning five. Their most recent head-to-head match was a 2007 Australian Open quarterfinal won by Clijsters in three sets.
