Ash Barty won Roland Garros less than five years ago however this year's event might just face one Australian in the main draw of the event.
Australian Tennis has seen better days as the upcoming grand slam might only feature one player from the country. It will be thanks to the agreement between the Australian Open and French Open to always give at least one wild card to players from the other country. If not for that we might have seen zero players in the main draw as all the top players are out.
Ashleigh Barty won the event a few years ago but she retired in the meantime. Ajla Tomljanovic is injured and unlikely to play though she is on the entry list while Daria Savilla is also not likely to play after her knee injury last year.
The Australian Federation is hoping that at least one of the two play at the event but for now it seems unlikely. There are some young players coming up but they don't have the necessary ranking either so it seems like the wild card will be the only Australian represented at the event this year.
