Aryna Sabalenka has firmly established herself as the most consistent force on the WTA Tour in recent months. When focusing exclusively on hard courts, there is little doubt: she is currently the best player in the world on this surface.

The Belarusian recently added another major title to her growing collection, capturing the Miami Open with a commanding 7-5, 6-2 victory over Jessica Pegula in the final. It was one of the few notable hard-court trophies that had previously eluded her.

Now the world No. 1, Sabalenka is just four titles—three WTA 1000 events and the WTA Finals—away from completing a clean sweep of the major hard-court tournaments. Her list of triumphs is already staggering:

  • Wuhan Open (2018, 2019, 2024)
  • Qatar Open (2020)
  • Australian Open (2023, 2024)
  • Cincinnati Open (2024)
  • US Open (2024)
  • Miami Open (2025)

The only remaining WTA 1000-level hard-court events where she has yet to lift the trophy are Dubai, Beijing, and Toronto/Montreal (the Canadian Open).

Dubai has proven to be one of her most challenging stops, with quarterfinal appearances in 2021 and 2023. The China Open in Beijing has also been elusive—Sabalenka fell in the round of 16 in 2018, 2023, and 2024. Meanwhile, the Canadian Open has seen her come close, reaching the semifinals in 2021 but falling short of the final.

In contrast, she has reached the final in Indian Wells twice—first in 2023 (losing to Elena Rybakina), and again in 2025, where she was narrowly defeated by rising star Mirra Andreeva.

The WTA Finals remains the other major hard-court title missing from her résumé. Sabalenka came closest in 2022, finishing as runner-up to Caroline Garcia. In both 2023 and 2024, she reached the semifinals, only to be stopped by eventual champions Iga Swiatek and Coco Gauff, respectively.

With her dominance and drive, it feels like only a matter of time before Sabalenka completes her hard-court conquest.
