The first two months of the year have concluded, and the WTA Race is beginning to take shape ahead of the Sunshine Double in Indian Wells. Madison Keys, Aryna Sabalenka, and Iga Swiatek remain at the top, while several players took advantage of the first week of North American tournaments to climb the standings.

The biggest winner of the week was Emma Navarro, who delivered an outstanding campaign in Mérida to claim her first WTA 500 title. This achievement allows her to break into the WTA Race top 10 for the first time this year, alongside Jessica Pegula—the ATX Open champion—who now sits at No. 10.

Madison Keys holds firm at No. 1 as Race heats up

There were no changes in the top five of the WTA Race this week, with Australian Open champion Madison Keys holding onto the top spot. The American also won the Adelaide International, bringing her total to 2,554 points. The Middle East Swing’s WTA 1000 events offered Sabalenka and Swiatek the chance to challenge for the No. 1 spot, but neither managed strong results.

Neither the Belarusian nor the Pole competed this week, yet they remain in second and third place, respectively. Sabalenka used this time to prepare for the upcoming Sunshine Double after a disappointing Middle East Swing, where she managed only one win and two losses, failing to advance past the round of 16 in Doha or Dubai despite being the top seed. She holds 1,930 points, while Swiatek follows in third with 1,710 points.

Seventeen-year-old rising star Mirra Andreeva (1,500 points) sits in fourth place after winning the WTA 1000 Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships. Like Sabalenka and Swiatek, she did not compete last week. Dubai finalist Clara Tauson (1,235 points) remains in fifth place, while Elena Rybakina holds sixth place with 1,190 points.

New faces in the Top 10

Emma Navarro (7th – 1,169 points) joins the top 10 after winning her first WTA 500 title at the Mérida Open, where she defeated surprise finalist Emiliana Arango 6-0, 6-0. She is now the second-highest-ranked American in the Race. Meanwhile, compatriot Jessica Pegula secured the WTA 250 ATX Open title, climbing to No. 10 in the Race.

Other top-10 names include Amanda Anisimova (8th, Qatar Open champion) and Paula Badosa (9th, Australian Open semifinalist).

The top 20 features other notable players such as Coco Gauff (12th), Belinda Bencic (13th), Karolina Muchova (14th), Jelena Ostapenko (15th), Ons Jabeur (18th), and McCartney Kessler (19th). Check out the full WTA Race standings below.
