Great Britain and France faced off at the
Davis Cup Finals and Cam Norrie secured the victory for GB.
He faced Arthur Rinderknech in the 2nd match of the tie and the in-form Norrie was able to prevail rather easily. The start of the match was solid for the Frenchman who was able to hold off Norrie initially.
But the Brit was able to find a way. He took an early lead which boosted his confidence amd he started playing even better. Rinderknech could not create a lot of damage with his serve and Norrie was able to go up 6-2.
The 2nd set opened well for Rinderlnech who served much better and exerted more pressure on Norrie. The Brit needed to save early break points but he was able to do so. Norrie started playing better but the Frenchman was holding on.
The match went to a tiebreak and it was the Frenchman early. Rinderknech jumped out to a 4-1 lead but Norrie proved very resilient fighting back to a 5-5 score. He took a 6-5 lead but ultimately closed it out with 10-8.
