The new trailer for Carlos Alcaraz’s documentary "A mi manera" has been released, in which the 4-time Grand Slam champion shares insights into his family life and behind-the-scenes moments following his historic Channel Slam victory, with titles at both Roland Garros and Wimbledon in 2024.
At just 19, Alcaraz claimed his first major title at the 2022 US Open, which also earned him the world No. 1 ranking, making him one of the youngest players ever to reach the top. With four majors to his name already, Alcaraz now aims to continue making history and reach the level of the legendary Big-3.
“I’m building my own path to become the greatest player in history – and I want to do it my way,” he says in the trailer. “I’d love to achieve it, it’s my dream. But one of the keys for me is to enjoy the journey.”
Two weeks ago, a short teaser of the trailer was released, offering a first look at the upcoming documentary. The full feature includes testimonials from tennis legends Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Alcaraz’s coach – former French Open champion Juan Carlos Ferrero.
“If you feel like you’re sacrificing too much, you probably won’t make it,” says Nadal in the trailer. “To achieve what Novak (Djokovic), Roger and I did, you have to feel that the sacrifices are worth it.”
This new Netflix sports series has been produced by Juan Gordon and Álex Martínez Roig of Morena Films (Cell 211, Mother’s Love), directed by Jorge Laplace (LaLiga: Beyond the Goal, Locomía), and written by Edu Salan and Jorge Laplace.
The documentary is composed of three episodes and will be available on Netflix starting 23 April. In the trailer, Alcaraz is seen showing his trophies at the childhood home where he still lives with his parents.
The series will also explore Alcaraz’s ambitions and the key role his close relationship with his family and loved ones plays every time he returns home.
