Andy Murray won his first match at Wimbledon since 2017 but the Brit threw away the 3rd set which did not leave him satisfied.
It's been a fantastic return for Murray at Wimbledon as the Brit took down Nikoloz Basilashvili in four sets. Murray played a very good match absorbing the power of Basilashvili well and forcing him to make mistakes. Murray however threw away a 5-0 lead to lose the 3rd set 5-7. On that he said:
"I definitely should have finished it up a lot sooner than what I did. [But] I don't think there are that many players that would have won that fourth set."
Asked about his tennis he gave this assesment:
"I think I played well up until probably 5-3 in the third set. That's never happened to me before in my career, being three breaks, a serve up and two sets to love up. Never had that happen before. But [those are] the sorts of things that can happen when you haven't played any matches. Things can get away from you a little bit quick."
Murray once again reiterated his desire to play tennis and this victory just deepened those thoughts:
“I keep being asked if this is my last Wimbledon or last match. No. I want to play. I am enjoying it and I still can play at the highest level. He is ranked 28 in the world and I have hardly played any matches and I beat him. I will keep going.”
