2020 was the year of
Sofia Kenin becoming the Australian Open champion and the American will aim to return to her best in 2022 with her father once again at her side.
Withdrawing from numerous tournaments after suffering from Appendicitis, struggles with form were evident throughout this season.
She split with her father, Alex in 2021 as a coach and went into Wimbledon where she was defeated in the second round by Madison Brengle committing 41 unforced errors in 45 minutes which was a new record in the tournament.
This was her last tournament of the year with the US Open return not taking place due to a positive Covid-19 case.
But after winning in Australia with her father by her side, their partnership will return.
"This year has been a very bumpy road for me.. I’m finally back to training and doing what I love! I’m happy to have my dad in my life who has always been there for me through thick and thin," she wrote on Instagram.
"Excited that he’s part of my team and I’m super excited to get back on court competing again next year."
