Three of the top women’s tennis players have already signed up for the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix. The competition’s 48th edition will begin on April 12, and some of the top players in women’s tennis are expected to play to secure the ultimate prize.
That expectation has now become a reality as three top
players in women’s tennis in the singles category have already signed up for
the competition. Those include the world number one
Aryna Sabalenka, world
number two
Iga Swiatek and two-time Grand Slam runner-up Italy’s
Jasmine Paolini.
Sabalenka was quoted in a report in which she expressed
excitement about taking part in the competition. “I am excited to play the
Porsche Tennis Grand Prix 2025 in Stuttgart and hope to see many spectators,“
said the world number one. Poland’s Swiatek was also quoted in the report where
she stated that the competition is one of her favourite. “The Porsche Tennis
Grand Prix is one of my favourite tournaments. The Stuttgart crowd always
produces a fantastic atmosphere,” she said. “It motivates us players even more
to display our best tennis.”
Paolini was also quoted in the report, where she stated that she was looking forward to taking part in the competition. “I played in
Stuttgart for the first time last year, and immediately felt at home,” says Paolini.
“I’m looking forward to enjoying the tournament’s special atmosphere once
again.”
Last year, it was the one-time Grand Slam winner Elena
Rybakina who lifted the title after beating Ukraine’s Marta Kostyuk in the
final in straight sets with a score of 6-2, 6-2. Her triumph ended two-year
dominance of Swiatek in the competition. The former world number one lifted the
title in 2023 after beating Sabalenka in the final in straight sets with a score
of 6-3, 6-4. She won the competition in 2022 as well after beating Sabalenka in
straight sets with a score of 6-2, 6-2.
