Neither Kontaveit nor Sasnovich had any issues reaching the 3rd round of the US Open after convincing victories on day 3 of the event.
Two quick matches happened on day 3 of the
US Open as Kontaveit defeated Juvan while Sasnovich smashed Vondrousova.
Anett Kontaveit had no issues against Juvan from Slovenia as the Estonian player cruised through in straight sets.
The first set was a bit tough for Kontaveit who needed 10 games to secure it. Juvan gave it her best and probably exerted her best in the 1st set as she completely collapsed in the 2nd set.
Kontaveit smashed her 6-1 winning all of Juvan's service games. She did lose on of her own service games which was the 3rd time in the match that it happened. It was good enough today from Kontaveit but her serving woes will need to be corrected prior to the next match.
The 2nd quick match of the day was between
Sasnovich and
Vondrousova. The Belarussian player completely smashed the Czech player with 6-1 6-2. The curios thing about this result that Vondrousova did the same thing in the previous round and now found herself on the receveing end.
There is not much to say about this match other than Sasnovich being better at every facet of the game in this match. She served better, she player better from the baseline, she was more aggressive and she deservedly won.
